What about travelling locally? Sadly, ever since Singapore’s Circuit Breaker started, the tourism industry in Singapore has come to a halt.

But, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced that starting from 1 July 2020, 13 attractions will gradually reopen in stages! 🎊🎉

However, for a start, most attractions will be restricted to no more than 25 per cent of their operating capacity.

In addition, only existing casino members and annual levy holders can enter the casinos.

Before an attraction is approved to reopen, its operator must address risks specific to the nature of its operations, while adhering to the requirements laid out in the Advisory for Attractions.

Resumption of domestic tours

Domestic tour operators can start to submit their applications to resume operations. Operations can only be resumed after receiving approval from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).

Operators have to demonstrate that they can implement all relevant safe management measures for customers and workers.

Submission of tour itineraries and schedules to STB has to be done in advance.

All proposals submitted have to include safe management measures that are tailored to reduce the transmission risks of COVID-19.

Higher standards of cleanliness

STB will put in more effort to ensure that more tourism businesses, apply for the SG Clean certification.

This certification indicates higher standards of cleaning, hygiene and sanitisation, providing reassurance to visitors.

Keith Tan, Chief Executive of STB said that it is the board’s priority to ensure that the tourism sector can provide a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.
