Aries: Adventure and Excitement

North Africa may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think about where to travel, but Morocco is truly something special. For the adventure-seeking Aries, this country is a land full of discovery and exploration.

Get lost in the Moroccan desert, where you can spend a night under the stars and wake up to a beautiful orange sunrise. Or visit Fez and Tangier to appreciate the unique Moroccan architecture (very photo-worthy, as you can see above)!

As an Aries, you may agree that life is full of risks, but what’s the fun without taking any? A trip to Iceland is the perfect representation of this. With volcanoes, glaciers and waterfalls, there can only be one word you’ll use to describe it – an adventure.

You’ll find that you will have plenty of room to roam around and try new things for yourself – another Aries favourite – when you are in Iceland. Even the biggest city, Reykjavik, only has a population of fewer than 130,000 people.

Queenstown, New Zealand

This is a town that often attracts more tourists than there are locals, but there’s a very good reason why.

Does the picture above look familiar? Yes, it’s the Luge. But trust me, this one is definitely better than the one we have in Sentosa. It’s on top of a mountain looking down at this unbeatable view. And this isn’t even the best part. There’s also bungee-jumping, jetskiing and you can even take a helicopter to the top of a glacier for the ultimate experience.

Taurus: Food and Nature

If you’re a Taurus, I’m sure you would be able to agree that the quality of the food that you eat will make or break your trip. Luckily, Japan is a destination that ensures that your dining experiences will never be disappointing.

But I’m sure you also want to find a way to lose all the kilograms you just gained from eating that delicious bowl of ramen. And in Japan, you can do this with a view. Immerse yourself in the natural sights that you can find all over the country.

Naples, Italy

It’s safe to say that Italy is a country worth travelling to just for its food. But we picked Naples for you for a reason, and it’s not just because of the pizza. Although you should definitely try it, of course. Neapolitan street food is truly something special that you don’t want to miss out on.

The other reason why Naples is an ideal destination for a Taurus is because of the mountain you see in the picture above. Well, to be specific, it’s a volcano called Mount Vesuvius. There’s a hiking trail to a crater at the mountaintop that takes at least three hours to complete. If you’d like, you can also stop at the ruins of the ancient city of Pompeii before your hike.

Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok is a delightful city full of life. The sky bars are world-famous and the floating market food is to die for and perfect for your sweet tooth.

But did you know there’s a natural side to Bangkok too? Phu Khao Thong, also known as The Golden Mountain, is a jungle oasis in the middle of Bangkok. You can also take a quiet and tranquil walk through the biggest park in the city, Lumphini Park.

In recent years, Rio de Janeiro may be most famous for hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics. But there is so much more to this bustling city. There is also the raucous Carnaval festival, usually held in February, featuring parade floats, flamboyant costumes and samba dancers.

You might also think of this statue when you first hear about Rio. Christ the Redeemer stands atop Mount Corcovado while offering an amazing view, as you can tell from the picture above.

Renowned artists flock to Berlin all the time and leave their mark, which inspires the next generation of artists. Who knows, maybe you could be next!

Libra: Culture and Architecture

Rome, Italy

Where do we even begin with Rome? There’s just so much to see and experience in the Italian capital. Here is where the Ancient Romans first developed world-changing architecture, and you’ll see examples of this all over the city.

Soon you’ll find yourself tired of taking photos everywhere you go. That’s the magic of Rome, where every street and every corner is worth capturing. As a Libra, you might also take interest in uncovering even more about the countries you visit, and its culture is a great place to start. And luckily for you, there’s nowhere better to discover Italian culture than Rome.

Istanbul, Turkey

Byzantium, Constantinople or Istanbul. What exactly is this city? Let’s just say it definitely owes its fascinating culture to its rich and sometimes tumultuous history. This is the place where several ancient empires met, and you can find remnants of their architecture scattered all over the city.

Fascinated by Singapore’s melting pot of cultures? Then you are going to love Istanbul, which is also a melting pot, but this time of ancient kingdoms with hundreds of years of history. It also holds the intriguing title of being the only city in the world that’s considered to be part of two continents – Europe and Asia.

Barcelona, Spain

What’s there not to love about Barcelona? It has sunny clear blue skies all year round, delicious Catalan cuisine everywhere and picture-perfect buildings. Not to mention La Rambla, the famous shopping street, Casa Milà and Casa Batlló, Antoni Gaudí’s finest works of architecture, and the Picasso Museum. There are barely many places in the world with a culture as rich as Barcelona’s.

However, Gaudí’s most well-known work remains the Sagrada Familia, an unfinished cathedral that is sure to stun you with its beauty the minute you step inside if you weren’t already mesmerised with what you saw on the outside. And of course, a visit to Barcelona isn’t complete without a trip to Park Güell (as seen in the picture above), and Camp Nou, home of FC Barcelona and also the biggest stadium in Europe.

Scorpio: Creativity and Passion

To Scorpios, travelling isn’t merely about sightseeing and relaxing. You want to visit someplace new and exciting. The country of Argentina may not be the first place that comes to mind, but it definitely offers a lot of excitement.

If you’re a city person, you are in for a treat. Gourmet restaurants, world-class museums, fine shopping, cutting-edge music and rocking nightlife all contribute toward satisfying your needed dose of big-city culture in Argentina’s cities like Buenos Aires and Córdoba. But if that’s not for you, try heading west and hiking the Andes for stunning views like the one in the picture above.

Sweden is one of the most creative countries in the world. With world-famous brands such as Ikea and H&M, it’s easy to say that this country’s design and innovation has largely influenced the globe. This makes it a perfect place for a Scorpio to spark or find their creativity again.

This might look like an elaborate art piece, but it’s actually one of the metro stations in Stockholm. And all of them look like this, except with different designs. The world’s longest underground art exhibition includes mosaics, paintings, installations, sculptures and more by over 150 different artists. You can tell that the Swedes do what they love and love what they do.

Chicago, United States

Found on the shore of Lake Michigan in Illinois, Chicago is a centre of international trade, commerce, transport, and telecommunications. The lake offers amazing contrasting views with the towering skyscrapers of the city.

What you see in the picture above you is a few of Chicago’s 37 movable bridges. They add a certain flair to the city with a style called Bascule, from the French word for teeter-totter, meaning they are drawbridges that lift up instead of swinging to the side. Pretty impressive, right?

Sagittarius: Freedom and Learning

What’s a holiday if you don’t come back with some newfound knowledge? Finland’s education has consistently topped worldwide lists, but obviously, you’re not going there to go to school. There are many other titles that Finland has the honour of holding, and these include the happiest country in the world and the safest country in the world. Wouldn’t you like to see it for yourself?

Fun fact, Finland has also produced the most number of successful mobile games out of all the countries in the world. But while you’re there, you would not want to stay indoors and play video games when you can appreciate this gorgeous view of the Northern Lights you see in the picture above. And last but not least, take your kids to Rovaniemi, Lapland, where the real Santa Claus greets visitors all year round.

Zurich, Switzerland

Fourteen museums designed especially for kids in Zurich ensures your children will never be bored in this city. You can also take a stroll, go for a bike ride, or simply enjoy a sunset cruise on the crystal clear waters of Lake Zurich.

If you’re looking for a meaningful and relaxing holiday experience, then you’ll be delighted to learn that this city is often listed as one of the world’s best in terms of quality of life, as well as a unique destination for lovers of history and culture. And of course, not forgetting its beautiful landscapes, perfect for a Sagittarius to explore.

Boston, United States

Of course, it would be a crime not to include a city from the Land of the Free while talking about freedom. Boston is just nice for a Sagittarius in every aspect – you’ll find the buzz of city life, busy streets and skyscrapers, but without the endless crowds and crowded subways that you can never run from in other big cities.

Some of the best colleges in the world are located near Boston. Specifically, Harvard University is located a mere 11-minute drive away from Boston’s city centre. Why not visit the campus of one of the oldest and most renowned colleges in the world? Here’s a tip: Visit in autumn (September to November). The falling leaves turn orange and compliment the brick buildings of the school very well.

Capricorn: Leisure and Exploration

Santorini, Greece

As a Capricorn, just like everyone else, you want to relax for your holiday – but it isn’t the only thing you want to do. Which is why Santorini would be an ideal destination for you. Famous for dramatic views, stunning sunsets from Oia town, the town of Thira and its very own active volcano, this Greek island will take your breath away.

The architecture of Santorini ‒ whitewashed edifices, blue domes, candy-coloured houses and paved paths ‒ blend in perfectly with the spectacular surroundings. You’ve definitely seen a picture of Santorini somewhere before, but you have to experience it for yourself to know what it really feels like. Book a hotel on the cliffs with an infinity pool, where you can truly unwind.

Vancouver, Canada

Forbes and Buzzfeed have named Vancouver one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And it’s easy to agree with them once you look at the city skyline and the mountains in the background. According to Mercer and The Economist, it’s also one of the most liveable cities in the world, which means accessibility and comfort are two fewer things for you to worry about while you’re on holiday.

Although you may be on holiday, a Capricorn still enjoys staying active and moving around. Thankfully, Vancouver is fortunate enough to be close to both the mountains and the ocean. This means you can try all kinds of activities from skiing and snow sports in the winter to kayaking and water sports in the summer, and hiking, camping, and biking year-round.

Munich, Germany

Munich is not just about Oktoberfest and beer. In fact, this annual celebration (which actually begins in September) is simply another part of the rich culture that you can find anywhere in the city. Germany’s most prosperous city has much more to offer, including a ton of museums and churches for you to explore, and many places for you to relax with tax-free shopping.

Munich’s Englischer Garten (English Garden) is among Europe’s biggest city parks. It’s bigger than Hyde Park in London and even Central Park in New York. Filled with sculptures and surprisingly heavily influenced by Asian architecture, this park has a Chinese pagoda and a Japanese teahouse, as well as a Greek temple.

Aquarius: Uniqueness and Originality

Are you tired of always going to the same places for your holiday? As an Aquarius, you crave new experiences, and a vacation is the best place to find one. But where to specifically? Malta. You may not even have heard of this country, but like any other European island, it has beautiful beaches and stunning sunsets.

Touring Malta by foot will give you ample time to explore and truly take in the views of the Mediterranean Ocean. After your walk, try some unique Maltese cuisine such as fig cakes, a delicious sweet snack that you can find almost everywhere on the island.

Busan, South Korea

When one thinks about going to South Korea, most of them are talking about Seoul. But as an Aquarius, you’ll want to try something out of the ordinary – Busan. This is where you can experience a unique atmosphere in terms of ethnic and cultural diversity, with a rich cultural past, interesting cuisine, numerous temples and seaside activities.

Not that many people visit Busan compared to other Korean cities, which makes your holiday a lot more peaceful. Start by visiting Busan Port and Haeundae Beach, two of the city’s most famous tourist attractions. Then, try some local seafood – it is Busan’s speciality cuisine, after all, being a port city.

Porto, Portugal

Just like Busan, Porto is also a port city.  Again, it isn’t exactly the first city that comes to mind when you mention big European cities, but that’s what makes it so special. Its river, the Douro, runs through the city and is an ever-popular choice for river cruises.

One of the oldest cities in Europe, Porto’s maze of steep and narrow cobbled streets is home to beautiful plazas, churches and colourful houses as you can see above. You may think that the city is called Porto because it’s a port, but it’s not. Porto is actually named after Port, a rich fortified wine, which is matured in the vast cellars that line the southern banks of the Douro River.

Pisces: Discovery and Imagination

A holiday to a Pisces is where you’ll discover yourself. Be it while you’re immersed in nature or caught up in the bustling streets of a city. In Ireland, you get both. Dublin is famous for its pubs and Guinness beer, but it also has a rich culture and history, along with a lot of live music.

Ireland is home to the second highest cliffs in Europe; the Croaghuaun on Achill Island at 599 metres above the ocean. Here is where you can let your imagination run wild, within the rich greenery and rolling hills of the Emerald Isle.

This Mediterranean country is home to over 1000 islands, and all of them are worthy of a visit. Everything about Croatia is special, from its historical sites to its cuisine, which is an eclectic mixture of the Mediterranean and Central European influences.

Croatia has eight national parks, including the UNESCO-listed Plitvice Lakes and Krka, both of which are famous for their stunning lakes and waterfalls. For various reasons such as being the filming location of the popular TV show Game of Thrones, more and more people are visiting Croatia every year, so hurry before it gets too crowded!

Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Situated in the Pacific Ocean some 1,000 km from the South American continent, these 19 islands and the surrounding marine reserve have been called a unique ‘living museum and showcase of evolution’. Singapore may be a melting pot of cultures, but the Galapagos Islands are the melting pot of marine species.

Charles Darwin made a discovery on these very islands. The famous biologist visited these islands in 1835, and shortly after his theory of evolution by natural selection was born. But it was all thanks to the development of unusual animal life – such as the land iguana, the giant tortoise and the many types of finch – that are found on the Galapagos Islands.

So, what are you waiting for? Now that you know where to go, book your next holiday now!
