I experienced a one-of-a-kind glamping experience here at The Canopi Bintan, where I was able to live in Safari Style tents combined with modern comforts.
What is Glamping? Simple. It’s camping, but with GLAMOUR. canopi takes pride in providing a “Camping in style” experience alongside the turquoise blue paradise that is Crystal Lagoon.
I’m so spoilt for choice! Each tent features tasteful interiors complete with luxurious amenities and facilities such as an outdoor bathroom and a four-poster bed.
The tent-suites are each connected to a beautiful garden pavilion, offering a lush outdoor space that is perfect for family holidays or even large group gatherings.
As I am traveling with my husband and 2 children, I settled on the Garden Tent, which offered a nice nature vibe and wide open spaces, which the kids really appreciated! I heard that it was newly renovated just last year!
Getting to the resort was sooo convenient! Canopi provided a free bus transport from the ferry, straight to the resort. Although the resort was pretty vast, there were buggies waiting for us to hitch a ride with, which made the kids real excited (Haha!).
Upon checking into the tent, my husband and i were most amazed by the open-showers! It is so unique and tasteful that I would definitely want to go back again for! (Although it may get a little cold as I showered at night). The bed was fancifully decorated and exceptionally comfortable (I definitely caught forty winks).
We then got a little hungry, so we headed out to the street food stretch which sold the BEST maggie mee I have ever tasted! Weird choice, but no ragrets!
Price: IDR40,000 per plate
Fun & Games
Next up, we were so thrilled to try out the activities at Chill cove! As we were still digesting our Indomie, we opted for the chillest activity first… the Virtual Reality Movie! It was too short (personal opinion), but I enjoyed it thoroughly as it was so interactive and unusual!
Then, we tried the Airsoft Gun. My skills (or lack of) were absolutely hopeless but the activity manager was very friendly and encouraging which helped me hit some targets after a while. My little boy enjoyed it a lot hence I actually paid for another 2 rounds of 30 bullets each!
Price: 80,000 for 30 bullets
We passed the Pirates’ Adventure Indoor Playground which caught my kid’s attention so we dropped them off there to play to their heart’s content. My husband and I then scooted off to the V Botanical Spa where we were blessed with exquisite treatments and massages. I was met with a wave of serenity and rejuvenation. Here’s where I truly felt unwound from the stresses of city-living!

That night, we barbecued under the stars. Well, actually the staff did… we just ate and ate! Haha! I liked that it was hassle-free and the service was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious and I most definitely miss it already!
We were provided complimentary passes to breakfast at the resort! They offered a wide selection of dishes and even a live egg cooking station. (Yay for eggs!)
We then went Mangrove Kayaking which was a mind blowing experience! Having kayaked in at Singapore river, I would like to say that this experience is a whole lot cooler! We caught sight of mudcrabs, monkeys and even a barracuda! No need to worry about getting lost as a guide followed us around to ensure that we do not get lost or get stuck in shallow mud.
Then we also tried the Slip n Slide, unlimited times! It was so exhilarating! It is a lot taller than it seems and I was actually a little scared. I only rode it twice as I got tired of climbing up the stairs (totally not because I was scared), but my kids had their fun going on and on!
For lunch, we went back to the street food stretch as we just couldn’t get enough of the savoury and affordable food. This time, we got 2 plates of mee goreng and 1 plate of statay and 2 box of goreng pisang.
Price: IDR40,000/plate for mee goreng
IDR40,000/plate for satay
IDR30,000/plate for goreng pisang
As we digested our bountiful feast, we chilled at the Crystal Lagoon @ Treasure Bay. Entrance was free for all resort guests. The weather in the afternoon was perfect, as it was a nice windy kind of warm. So I basked in the sun on one of those deck chairs as my husband played with the children in the waters. (I was so comfortable I actually fell asleep!)
We then filled our tummies with a sumptuous meal at The Patio Restaurant & Bar, which was one of the best life decisions I have made. We ended the perfect getaway on a high note with a satisfied stomach and contented hearts.
I thoroughly enjoyed this trip and I believe it is truly good value for money as there are a wide range of activities to choose from, the accommodation is luxurious, entertainment and dining options aplenty and the whole package is of affordable prices. Be it a solo travel, family holiday, or a couple’s getaway, this is a resort made for all.
