Couple that Pushed the Old Man at the Hawker centre are fined


4 months ago, one incident initiated a moral outcry among Singaporeans.

The infamous couple who made headlines for their aggressive behaviour towards an elderly man in a Toa Payoh hawker centre were fined in the State Courts on Friday (11 August).

The incident took place on 21 April this year at Toa Payoh Lorong 8 Market and Food Centre. In the video below, Chow was seen shoving 76 year-old Ivor Ng Ai Hua in the back while Tay used abusive language on him.

Daughter of Mr Ivor Ng Ai Hua has also spoken out and has garnered support from the public to bring justice to her Father.



The female is identified as Tay Puay Leng, 38, a tuition teacher has pleaded guilty of using abusive language towards the uncle.

While the male is identified as Chow Chuin Yee, 45, a Malaysian, was fined $1,500 after he pleaded guilty to using criminal force against the victim.

The Saga has even gone as far as dragging an innocent University student into the picture, resulting in causing the young girl distress.

Clearly shaken by this whole ordeal, both Miss Tay and Mr Chow attempts to clarify the situation through media.
