Please observe LOA, if applicable

  • MOM is taking a 3-pronged approach to ensure that all observe LOA
  • All workers serving LOA are sent text messages several times a day, at random hours, which require them to update MOM of their location within an hour
  • Officers based at MOM’s service centre on Bendemeer Road will make random calls to workers
    • These include both voice and video calls, which may require workers to show officers their surroundings
    • MOM will make checks with employers if calls are not answered
  • Enforcement officers from the ministry will also conduct random checks on workers’ residences to ensure they adhere to the LOA
  • During checks, MOM officers will also check-up on the well-being of the people on LOA
  • People on LOA are allowed to make essential trips out of the house (eg: to buy food)
  • However, they are not allowed to make non-essential trips out of the house (eg: going to the movies)
