COVID-19 Daily Update 2020-03-25: 49 New Confirmed Cases, Total 558 in SG Now

As of 25 March 2020, 10am, there are 558 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Singapore. On 24 March 2020, there were 48 new confirmed cases.

Of the 48 new cases, 32 are imported cases. (Cases 512, 513, 514, 515, 517, 518, 519, 522, 523, 526, 529, 530, 532, 534, 537, 538, 540, 541, 542, 543, 544, 545, 546, 547, 548, 549, 551, 552, 554, 555, 557, 558) with travel history to Europe, North America, ASEAN countries, other parts of Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.

Of the remaining 16, 4 are linked cases (Case 520 was in contact with Case 94; Case 539 was in contact with Cases 338 and 367; Case 550 was in contact with Case 451; Case 553 was in contact with Case 384)

13 are currently unlinked (Cases 510, 511, 516, 521, 524, 525, 527, 528, 531, 533, 535, 536 and 556).

 

Update on confirmed patients in Singapore

  • 155 fully recovered and discharged
  • 401 in hospital are mostly stable or improving
  • 17 in critical condition
  • 2 deaths in total

Update on situation in China

  • 47 new cases
  • 81,218 cases in total
  • 4 new deaths
  • 3,163 deaths in total

Update on situation in Italy

  • 5,249 new cases
  • 69,176 cases in total
  • 743 new deaths
  • 6,820 deaths in total

No gatherings outside work and school with more than 10 people, certain venues to close

  • From Thursday (26 Mar) 11.59pm, gatherings outside of school and work will be limited to 10 people or less
  • All entertainment venues like bars, karaoke outlets, cinemas and theatres are to be closed
  • All centre-based tuition and enrichment classes are also to be suspended
  • All religious services and congregations will also be suspended but places of worship may remain open for private worships, subject to the limit of 10 people maximum
  • Shows within attractions, both indoors and outdoors, group tours at museums and open atrium sales events will also be suspended
  • Organised tours within public venues such as sightseeing and guided walking tours will also be suspended

Singapore residents returning from UK and US to serve Stay-Home Notices (SHN) in hotels

  • Returning Singapore residents from the United Kingdom and United States will be taken from the airport to hotels to serve their SHN
  • Those returning from those countries make up the largest part of imported cases so far
  • National Development Minister Lawrence Wong said that this would prevent the potential spread to their family members
  • Each returning travellers will have their own room and toilet, and all their meals will be provided
