COVID-19 Daily Update 2020-04-06: 120 New Confirmed Cases, Total 1,309 in SG Now

As of 06 April 2020, 10am, there are 1,309 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Singapore. On 5 April 2020, there were 120 new confirmed cases.

Of the 120 new cases, 4 are imported cases with travel history

Of the remaining 116, 50 are linked cases.

The remaining 66 are currently unlinked cases.

2 Dorms Gazetted as Isolation Areas

  • Dormitories with the largest clusters
    • S11 Dormitory @ Punggol with 62 cases and Westlite Toh Guan with 28 cases
  • 19,800 workers put under quarantine

3 New Clusters

  • Tampines Dormitory (2 Tampines Place): 3 cases
  • Cochrane Lodge I (51 Admiralty Road West): 2 cases
  • Construction site (6 Battery Road): 4 cases

Update on confirmed patients

  • 23 fully recovered and discharged
  • 569 in hospital are mostly stable
  • 25 in critical condition
  • 414 who are clinically well but confirmed COVID-19 are being isolated at Concord International Hospital Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital and the Community Isolation Facility at D’Resort NTUC

Singapore Expo being prepared as a facility for community isolation

  • Singapore Expo is prepared to house COVID-19 patients who have “more or less recovered” but may still be infectious
  • Measure is put up to ensure all patients to be cared for until they are cleared of the virus

  • Since motor vehicle dealerships and showrooms are closed from 7 April, the COE bidding exercises for April will be suspended
  • Dealers to use existing stock of Temporary COEs to register new vehicles

False news on bogus mask distributors robbing residents

  • There are messages circulating about of people who claimed that there are robbers distributing reusable masks door-to-door and douse the mask with chemicals to make people lose consciousness
  • Police have not received any report of such incident
  • No Government initiatives to distribute masks directly to households
