COVID-19 Daily Update 2020-04-07: 66 New Confirmed Cases, Total 1,375 in SG Now

As of 07 April 2020, 10am, there are 1,375 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Singapore. On 6 April 2020, there were 66 new confirmed cases.

Of the 66 new cases, 1 is a imported case with travel history

Of the remaining 65, 35 are linked cases.

The remaining 30 are currently unlinked cases. Contact tracing is ongoing.

Update on confirmed patients

  • 24 fully recovered and discharged 
  • 571 in hospital are mostly stable
  • 25 in critical condition

All Pre-schools to provide 50% off school fees for students not attending classes due to “circuit breaker”

  • For students not attending classes during “circuit breaker”, there will be 50% offset from the parents’ out-of-pocket fees, after the deduction of S$300 basic subsidy

  • SAF will suspend BMT from 7 Apr 2020 to 4 May 2020
  • Recruits will still be eligible for national service allowance and medical benefits during this training suspension

All About Solidarity Budget

  • S$5.1 billion pumped into the third support package termed as Solidarity Budget
  • Aimed to save jobs and protect livelihoods during “circuit breaker”
  • On Jobs Support Scheme, it will be enhanced with 75% of wage support for local employees and first payout to be brought forward to April
  • Government will waive the monthly foreign worker levy due in April and provide employers with a S$750 foreign worker levy rebate for each work permit or S pass holder

  • On rental costs, a Bill will be introduced today to allow businesses to defer certain contractual obligations like paying rent

  • For self employed, the Self-Employed Person Income Relief Scheme will be extended to include self-employed person who earn a small income from employment work
  • Raising the current annual value threshold from up to S$13,000 to a maximum of S$21,000

  • On cash payouts to Singaporeans, all adult Singaporeans above 21 will receive a one-off payment of S$600 in cash
  • The payment will be credited through the bank account if provided by 14 April 2020
  • The rest will receive payment by cheque to be issued later
