Elderly man KNOCKED DOWN by REVERSING TAXI

In what was a result of sheer negligent driving, on Sunday morning (April 15), an elderly man was knocked down by a reversing taxi.

The video, which was shared on ROADS.sg and SG Road Vigilante on Facebook, captured footage at the carpark of Block 7 Eunos Crescent, of the elderly man with plastic bags in his hands attempting to cross the road.

The blue ComfortDelGro taxi, which had initially been reversing, subsequently knocked down the elderly, which prompted the driver to alight from his taxi and then helped the man lay on his back.

The 75-year-old victim was conscious when conveyed to Changi General Hospital and has since been discharged.

The taxi driver has also been discharged from his employment with ComfortDelGro, and the company has also stated that they will be assisting the authorities in investigations and are trying to contact the victim and his family, and will assist them to the best of their ability.
