In the midst of our fight against COVID-19, there are some behaviours that are sadly slowing down the efficiency of our response.
According to Straits Times, MOM had been receiving feedback from hospitals that employers were sending healthy employees to be tested for COVID-19.
Divisional director of MOM’s foreign manpower management division, Mr Kevin Teoh reminded employers that hospitals will only run tests for patients who are unwell and need medical treatment.
If workers are feeling unwell, they should visit a GP clinic or the polyclinic, who will then assess if they need to be taken to the hospital.
Mr Teoh emphasised that this is important as it helps ensure that medical emergencies are handled promptly and efficiently.
Should employers continue to act irresponsibly by misusing medical facilities, Mr Teoh warned that they may have their working pass privileges suspended.
