Platinum, Paragon, Chatuchak… We all know that. What ELSE is there in Bangkok?

No matter how many times you’ve visited Bangkok, you will never miss out Platinum. It’s normal. But let’s be honest here, don’t you want to explore more for once… see what else Bangkok has to offer?? Trust me, there are so much more to Bangkok malls than our usual Platinum, Paragon, Chatuchak… Here we list down the TOP 5 malls you must visit in Bangkok. You’ll be surprised at what you can find!

Introducing to you the latest, hottest addition to Bangkok fanciest MEGA malls: ICONSIAM. Inspired by cultural values and beliefs tied to the Chao Phraya River, this architectural wonder stands just at the side of the Chao Phraya River. So you can already imagine how majestic it looks from the outside during the golden hours. And as the night falls, the magic begins here at ICONSIAM.

Labelled as Thailand’s shopping mecca, ICONSIAM offers an extensive number of high-end retail stores and a colossal seven-storey Takashimaya outlet across a sprawling 525,000 sqm.

Another most visited store here is the Apple Store – the first in Thailand and second in Asia after Singapore.

Here just to shop? Think again. From indoor floating market to world-class cineplex to Michelin star restaurant, there’s so much more to the mall besides its retail stores, you get to fully experience the life of Crazy Rich Asians!

End your night watching the dancing musical fountain featuring stunning lights and special effects. Then take a stroll along the River Park to enjoy the scenic riverside landscape.

Having clinched at least six major global design awards in just the past year along, it is no wonder Siam Discovery is known to have the front line design in the world. I mean, just see for yourself..

Design-wise, it looks like a brightly-lit, massive contemporary photo studio perked up with edgy modern sculptures. Instead of individual stores like your typical malls, you’ll find an open-concept retail space.

Here, products are grouped based on style rather than brand. Siam Discovery introduces an unprecedented experimental shopping experience with a fresh concept of combining space with experiential design.

Furthermore, connected to Siam Center and MBK (via an elevated walkway), it is no doubt a place worth a visit if you’re in the area to enjoy the shopping.

Also, happening ONLY this June, Siam Paragon presents for the first time ever in Thailand – Peanuts Global Artist Collective X Absolute Siam Peanuts lifestyle items collection.

Now not only is this so instagrammable, your kids will also enjoy immersing themselves in the various interactive games.

Ride the escalator and see how each floor is named after a different part of the world, complete with its trademark icons. One minute you can visit the Caribbean, and the next moment you will be teleported to Tokyo.

Nine-storey Terminal 21 offers designer brands, international cuisine, a supermarket, boutique shops, and many more. At some parts, the shop layouts will remind you of Platinum. However do take note, only some shops in Terminal 21 accept bargaining!

Haven’t had enough “travelling” the world? Try toilet-hopping! Wait what? Trust me, it’s one-of-a-kind adventure! Want a taste of the Caribbean? Check out the restrooms at the lower ground floor. Feeling like Paris or Rome? They are just an escalator ride up!

Haven’t had enough of Platinum?

Standing just a stone throw’s away from Platinum Mall is its brand new sister – The Market. Recently opened in 14 Feb 2019, The Market offers everything you would expect in Platinum has, but new.

Consisting of a line up of fashion boutiques and a wide variety F&B outlets, you can get the ultimate Bangkok shopping experience here. And when you’re tired after all that shopping, simply pop by one of the many massage parlours here for a quick therapeutic Thai massage.

On top of the list of F&B options here is unanimously the Domo-kun Café (G Floor). Topped with our favourite pearls, the soft serve ice cream is to die for and definitely instagrammable.

An outdoor riverside mall, Asiatique is going to charm you with its theme-park look. Beautifully designed with fake railway cars and bags of Thai rice, this place replicate the warehouses that you’ll still find in parts of Bangkok.

Entertain your kids with Thai puppetry show – Joe Louis Puppet Theatre, which is showcased here in Asiatique.  Want more? You can even enjoy Thailand’s famous pretty “ladyboys” dancing and lip-syncing to mostly Asian hits. The nightly shows are are on the pricier side though, costing around 1,000 baht/ticket.
