In case you forgot, Singapore has moved to Phase 2 on 19th June 2020! YAY
This now means that we can finally eat out! Though this will be limited to a maximum of 5 per group (but better than nothing right?)
The authorities have decided to implement new measures to improve hygiene and cleanliness standards at hawker centres, coffee shops, and public toilets.
So what will be the new measures implemented?
Firstly, diners will have to properly dispose of their used tissues and wet wipes, and return their trays and crockery to centralized stations.
There will be safe distancing ambassadors stationed to remind diners.

Secondly, public toilet owners and operators will also have to ensure the facilities have basic amenities such as liquid hand soap, toilet paper, and litter bins.
Furthermore, the NEA is implementing a toilet improvement program for older coffee shops and hawker centers, which will adopt new designs and include new technologies that would make it easier to maintain its cleanliness.
While all this may seem like small changes, according to the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Masagos Zulkifli, “Cleanliness and good standards of hygiene are our first line of defense against evolving public health threats.”
So let us all do our part to ensure that we can eradicate the virus as soon as possible!
