Travelers who had purchased from Konsortium head office at Golden Mile Tower were left shocked and unsatisfied.
Many were affect since it is one of the biggest coach service companies in Singapore, and a member of the Express and Excursion Bus Association (EEBA).
An association spokesman said that they had no prior knowledge of the closure, and were unable to get in touch with the company and its directors.
“Our focus now is on helping any affected travelers the best we can,” he added.
A notice was pasted on the door, saying that the agency had to be shutdown due to “financial crisis”, and all services provided by them will be ceased with immediate effect.
It had advised the affected passengers to apply for a refund for their unfulfilled trips and travel insurance claims through the Small Claims Tribunal.
“We are deeply apologetic for the sudden closure and we seek your forgiveness,” the notice added.
Just a month earlier, Konsortium’s coach tickets for the Chinese New Year Eve period were told to be nearly sold out, with the agency engaging four times as many trips across the Causeway.
EEBA has provided the solution for the affected travelers to call them on 62988425 or contact Grassland Express & Tours, Lapan Lapan Travel, Sri Maju Tours & Travel, Transtar Travel or WTS Travel & Tours.
