For the first time ever, the world’s most popular cooking competition is searching for their next MasterChef in Singapore – and just about anyone can sign up!
MasterChef Singapore will premiere on Mediacorp Channel 8 in August, and a nationwide casting call for contestants is already underway.
If you think you’re one of the best home cooks out there and have a real passion for cooking, you can sign up here by 25 March 2018.
Some things to take note of, though:
1. You must be a Singaporean citizen or permanent resident above the age of 18.
2. You must not have any previous professional or semi-professional kitchen experience.
3. You must not have any formal tertiary or other professional catering qualifications acquired in the past decade.
4. You must be available for filming for up to 4 weeks, starting from 26 April 2018.
(if you’re under 18, let’s hope that MasterChef Junior will come to Singapore too if this version of the show is successful!)
Of course, if you don’t have the real cooking chops, you might end up getting exposed like this:
Mediacorp has announced that the 3 judges will be revealed soon.
While it’s somewhat queer that MasterChef Singapore will be broadcasted on a Mandarin channel, we suspect it is mainly because Channel 8 has typically much higher TV ratings than Channel 5.
So, think you have what it takes to become the next MasterChef? Sign up now, and who knows, you might be the next one to walk any with the coveted title.
