The Hidden Gem – Angsana Ihuru
Angsana Ihuru – My Dream Come True
Travelling to Angsana Ilhuru, Maldives, was really a dream come true. The resort was luxurious, the service was top-notch, and the scenery was simply breathtaking. There is no better way to describe it other than the cliche way of turquoise waters, white beaches and rich green tropical vegetation. It’s like looking at vivid watercolour paintings everywhere you go~
Our Gorgeous Beachfront Villa
There were 2 Villa Types at Angsana Ihuru. We opted for the Beachfront Villa that comes with a front porch and an outdoor swing.
Panoramic shots of the room!! It was sooo spacious and pretty! There was this huge glass sliding door that led us right onto the sandy beach! It was literally at our doorstep. The glass doors also meant lots of natural sunlight, something that I loved.
The staff knew that we were on a honeymoon and gave us a little surprise in our room on our first day of arrival. How thoughtful and sweet!
The toilet was another major fangirl moment because it was an outdoor shower concept! I have to say though, showering outdoors is a little unnerving and it can get quite chilly at night hahaha..
Awesome Activities – Memories I’ll Never Forget
The package we bought entitled us to many exciting activities such as free snorkeling gears, free yoga, 1 night fishing trip, and unlimited rides on non-motorized sports activities such as kayaking. There were also many other activities such as dolphin cruising, coral planting, private marine excursion etc. Check out some of the activities that we participated in:
Angsana Ihuru has a daily Stingray feeding from 5pm – 6pm. This was the closest we got to seeing wild stingrays from the sea, so it was a pretty interesting experience. Isn’t so funny how the stingray goes back and forth with the waves?
Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to feed nor interact with the stingrays. My husband’s guess is that Angsana Ihuru wants to keep the guests safe and also minimize interactions so as to prevent injuring the precious wildlife.
Plant Corals & Reef Snorkeling
Perhaps corny but I thought this was a pretty meaningful thing to do on a honeymoon – to plant something and give it life, right at the start of our marriage. Apart from coral planting, we also enjoyed ourselves plenty while reef snorkeling! (The snorkeling gears were provided to us for free because of the package we bought under WeekendGoWhere.)
PERSONAL FAVOURITE – Dolphin Cruising
I’ve always loved dolphins. So imagine my excitement when I was told that I had the opportunity to get up close and observe wild dolphins swimming in the sea!
The package we got from WeekendGoWhere also entitled us to 20% off on body massage at Angsana Spa. The ambience of the place was great! I fell asleep during the massage LOL..
It wasn’t convenient to take a photo of the spa area so here’s a gif of a dog having spa instead~
Chill and Relax
We didn’t plan any itinerary for our honeymoon, so when we didn’t feel like participating in any of the above-mentioned activities, we simply did what we did best – nua and enjoy the scenic beach.
The Food – YUM yum in the Tum Tum
There is 1 main dining area at Angsana Ihuru called Riveli. It has both outdoor and indoor seating area and provides international cuisine. Highly recommend the baby lamb rib!!
Destination Dining (Sandbank Dining)
Probably the most romantic meal I ever had that had me falling head over heels again.. *blush*. This dinner was actually a surprise dinner planned by my husband. It was kinda like a magical fairytale, you get escorted to a private sandbank with prince charming, have a super romantic and intimate meal, feeling like the world around has momentarily ceased to exist.
If you’re curious, we were served barbecue food and champagne for dinner! The food was very nicely roasted and you could even taste the freshness in the food! Though honestly, with the romantic ambience and the great conversation with your significant other, food is probably the last thing on your mind~
Overall Verdict – MUST GO!
My honeymoon was nothing short of PERFECT and I am so glad that we chose Angsana Ihuru at Maldives. Their service was great, the activities were awesome, food was fantastic and of course, my husband was the best companion I can ever ask for. He made everything a little extra special and I’m sure the memories made on this trip will stay with me for a long long time to come.
