In view of the spike in the number of confirmed cases in South Korea, particularly in Daegu city and Cheongdo county, the Multi-Ministry Taskforce has decided to bar entry of all new visitors with recent travel history to both cities within the last 14 days.
Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has hence suspended all semester exchanges to South Korea until further notice.
With NTU’s new measure put in place, students are left with the few stated choices:
- To take Leave of Absence (LOA) and delay their graduation;
- Start a credited internship in advance;
- Prepare for their Final Year Project (FYP) in advance, or
- Choose to register for ongoing NTU classes
Partner universities of NTU in South Korea have also noted the developments of COVID-19 in their country and have informed NTU that they will defer all exchange programmes.
