Explore Japan the kawaii way with the Hello Kitty bullet train almost every day between Shin-Osaka and Hakata on JR-WEST!
Hello there! If you click on this article I bet you must be a Hello Kitty fan! So welcome on board and let me list down what to expect of this Hello Kitty train ride.
It is a rather long bullet train with 8 separated cars, entirely covered in pretty pastel pink. The train body is decorated with super kawaii Hello Kitty ribbons stickers extended from one end to another.

If you want to snap a photo with the exterior of the pink bullet train, the best station would be Higashi-Hiroshima Station where the train will wait for about 13 minutes – giving you more than enough time for your shots!
Car 1 and Car 2 are dedicated for the themed attraction – Hello Kitty worlds.
Train Car 1 is named “Hello! Plaza”. It consists of a special souvenir store and cafe. There are 8 exclusive Hello Kitty design products on sale, each specific for 1 of the 8 prefectures that the train travel through. For instance, there’s a Strawberry Hello Kitty from Fukuoka and an Orange Hello Kitty from Tottori, symbolising their local products.
Train Car 2 is called the “Kawaii! Room” or super cute room. It is completely covered with motifs from Hello Kitty and her Friends. There’s also a photo spot where you can take your perfect instagram shot. I’m sure any Hello Kitty fan will go crazy over here!
The Shinkansen has a 3×2 seat layout. The special themed seat is only available in Car 2. Cars 3-8 have normal seats but the interior of these carriages remains cute done up with pink and purple seats!

You can find Hello Kitty all over the head covers and window shades of the train. Don’t forget to check out the toilets and wash rooms which have been completely restyled to fit this theme too!
Tips: If you wish to sit on the special themed seat, buy a non-reserved seat ticket instead of reserved seat (and save some bucks!!)
