Gudetama combines the Japanese phrase “gude gude” which means lazy, with “tama” a shortened form of “tamago” the Japanese word for egg. It is the anthropomorphic embodiment of severe depression with an apathetic personality. It is a recent addition to the Sanrio Universe, which is the same one Hello Kitty came from.

You may be wondering, what’s there to like about a lazy egg which has no motivation? Well, people adore Gudetama due to its relatability and need to be cared for. Here are some of its plush toys for you to adore and (probably) add to your shopping cart next time you go shopping.

I bet you’re so eager to get one of them and just laze around with it! Did you know, there’s even a Gudetama-themed cafe right here in Singapore! It’s located at Suntec City Mall 01-361.

No-Face/Kaonashi カオナシ – Spirited Away

In case you are unfamiliar with this character, it is a spirit in Studio Ghibli’s animated film Spirited Away. Created by Hayao Miyazaki, No-Face is a mysterious spirit that is capable of reacting to emotions and ingesting other individuals in order to gain their personality and traits. No-Face is actually a metaphor, the libido that everyone secretly harbours.

Though it may sound deep and mysterious, plush toy manufacturers have no issue making a plush toy out of it, and boy does it look cute!

Come embrace your mysterious side and look cute at the same time! If you haven’t watched Spirited Away, we totally recommend you to do so!

We hope you’ve enjoyed reading this article about cute plush toys! Better control your spending and go easy on your wallet if you plan on getting them! They definitely don’t come cheap!
